BIJOU Reveals His Essential Hangouts In Phoenix, USA

After a year jam-packed of explosive releases plus a wildly-successful 23-date run on his ‘Stay Fly’ tour, alongside bass-house boss Martin Hørger, Phoenix native BIJOU shares his essential guide to his home city. His brand new single release Six Shots is out now!

Places to Eat

Hands down my favourite vegan spot in town is The Coronado. It’s been around for years now and is a staple in the Phoenix community.

If I’m looking outside of that then my go to is La Locanda in old town Scottsdale. I’m obviously vegan so this is an authentic Italian restaurant with its own separate vegan menu that’s second to none.

Drink

I’m not a drinker so my go to on a daily basis is Street Brew coffee. Hands down the best matcha you can find in town and the service is next level. If you’re into lattes then I highly recommend the lavender latte but just be prepared for a nice caffeine buzz because this baby is STRONG!

Party

If you’re looking for a mid week BANGER then you wanna head to Zuma in Tempe. This is one of the longest running nights in the entire state and I also had my hand in it for quite a few years. This is where I really got my start as a DJ and my best friend still runs the night every week and it pops off.

On the weekends I’d make my way over to Sunbar in Tempe if you’re looking for a proper proper night of dance music. It’s one of the staple venues in the city and also where I’ll be playing for the ‘Stay Fly’ Tour at the end of December.

Chill

If you’re looking for something chill then I suggest taking a nice walk down at Tempe Town Lake. This lake was man made when I was really young and is actually part of the Salt River.

You can also drive your car to the top of South Mountain in Phoenix and they have a city overlook where you have a 360 degree view of the entire city itself. This is one of my favourite places to go for inspiration and some peace and quiet.

Visit

The Phoenix Japanese friendship garden. This is a place of peace and tranquility that I would highly highly recommend to anyone visiting Arizona.

Papago Park is also a very pleasant and easy hike that allows you to go up in the hills and sit inside the mountain. Can’t go wrong with this one

Shopping and other fun things to do

If you’re looking for Vintage shopping, like I enjoy, then I’d recommend either Ghost Vintage or Wangs Vintage. Both are staple locations in uptown Phoenix where you can find rare and authentic vintage clothing items.

If you’re a sneaker head, also like myself, then I’d recommend Phoenix Sole. I recently discovered this spot a few months ago and was greeted with open arms and an extremely helpful and welcoming staff. The selection of shoes is second to none and although it is a resale shop, the prices aren’t gauging like most resale locations.

Now, my #1 spot for fun hands down is Mavrix. I’m a sucker for an arcade and this is an all in one arcade, bowling alley, bar, and laser tag spot. Anytime I want to have some fun you can catch me there!

BIJOUS ‘Six Shots’ is due for release on December 16.
